How do you feel about your curly hair? Do you like having this hair texture? If so, has this always been the case? 

I get a lot of compliments on my hair (which I’m so very grateful for, thank you!) but I have to say that I’ve always found my hair to be a bit frustrating. It’s very thick, curly, and unpredictable. For such a long time I shied away from wearing my hair down naturally because it was so hard to style and tame and it made me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. I felt like people were staring at the unruly nest on top of my head! Needless to say, I have straightened my hair waaaay too much in the past which has caused some heat damage.

Can you guide us through your hair care routine for curly hair and give us your styling tips? 

When it comes to a hair routine, I like to keep it simple; clean my hair using the ATTITUDE Super leaves™ Curl Moisturizing Shampoo and hydrate my hair by leaving the ATTITUDE Super leaves™ Curl Moisturizing Conditioner on for ten minutes in the shower. Once rinsed and out of the shower, I like to style my hair with a natural curl cream and add a serum to the ends. I prefer to let my hair air dry because I’m now very careful with the amount of heat I put on my hair (I blow dry my hair straight maybe once every two weeks). And because I want to moisturize my hair as much as possible, I do a hair mask twice a week too!  

As for hair accessories, I’m a pretty simple gal. I do love a pretty side clip during the day but as soon as dinner time hits, I’m sporting a mom-bun with my favourite scrunchie! Quick tip: I actually find that sleeping with my hair piled on top of my head in a loose scrunchie at night (aka the pineapple method) helps to carry my curls a bit further and can sport them for 2 or 3 days before washing again. In between washes, I am careful to never use a brush or comb and to keep my curls hydrated and shiny with a serum. On really dry days (Calgary is the worst for this), I will use a dab of ATTITUDE conditioner on the ends of my hair.
